Investor in Community – promoting leaders in responsible business practices that benefit long-term social development and well-being. The 2005 winner was Overgas Inc for its programme Overgas Basket, part of which is included in the international calendar of FIBA Europe.

Investor in Environment – recognising the achievements of companies that pioneer environmentally friendly policies and products, and encouraging others to follow their example. The winner of the 2006 BBLF Annual Award for Investor in the Environment will be nominated for the European Business Award for the Environment, granted by the European Commission.

Last year’s winner – Ideal Standard Vidima and Ideal Standard Bulgaria for their overall policy to protect the environment.

Investor in Human Capital and Working Conditions – acknowledging the successes of companies who strive for sustainable development through encouraging the continuous professional growth of their employees and who perform practical steps for improving the working conditions for their employees.

Last year’s winner – the joint project of JobTiger and Nestle Bulgaria – the forum for student internships and careers called Careers 2005 – Good Career, Good Life.

Investor in Knowledge – praising the efforts of companies that work with zeal and determination to fill in the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the Bulgarian educational system. Also, those companies that work towards improving the qualifications of young people and assisting scientific and research activities.

Last year’s winner – Microsoft Bulgaria for its project Partners in Education, which helped teachers in applying new information and communication technologies in the educational process.

Award for Cause-related Marketing (new category for 2006) – This is given to a company that promotes its products or services and at the same time declares its support for a cause. The support could come as money (percentage of the cost), or could also spread a positive message to clients at large. Thus, consumers not only join the company in its socially responsible behaviour, but also learn more about the needs of society.

Applying projects must demonstrate a benefit for society; work in partnership with other organisations; engagement of the whole company in the implementation of the project(s); durability and consistency of the initiatives; innovativeness; and public evaluation.
