Macedonia led a campaign to discredit Bulgaria shortly before Bulgaria's EU entry, the director of Bulgaria's National History Museum Bozhidar Dimitrov said.
Part of the campaign was articles in foreign media, saying that EU countries were afraid of Bulgarian and Romanian immigrant workers, Focus news agency said.
On August 13 Sunday Telegraph published an article, saying a number of foreigners received Bulgarian citizenship due to corruption in administration. According to Dimitrov the article was a speculation written by a Macedonian and a Romanian.
Macedonia acts as a hostile country, Dimitrov said.
