Macedonia calls for more appropriate solutions on name dispute
12:39 Thu 20 Mar 2008

Macedonian foreign minister Antonio Milososki called on UN special envoy Matthew Nimitz on March 19 to come up with “more suitable” solutions for the Macedonia name dispute between Skopje and Athens, the Associated Press reported on March 20.

The official spoke days before Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) were to hold another round of related negotiations, on March 24 in New York.

“We believe that Nimitz may come up with better ideas, which are to give the two states the opportunity to report progress in talks,” Milososki said, adding that FYROM stood ready to actively partake in talks on the name dispute.

Milososki insisted that all three proposals put up by Nimitz were pro-Greek and failed to satisfy FYROM's national interests.

Macedonian prime minister Nikola Gruevski reiterated Milososki’s statement later in the day after meetings with the leaders of the Democratic Party of Albanians (DPA) Menduh Thaci, the Democratic Union for Integration Ali Ahmeti and the Social Democratic Union for Integration Radmila Sekerinska, Macedonian newspaper Vecer reported. The position was communicated to the country's president Branko Crvenkovski.

So far, negotiations between Greece and Macedonia have failed to yield fruit. According to Nimitz, the rift between Greece’s and FYROM's positions was still too wide, yet believed could be narrowed in the run-up to the Nato summit in Bucharest, where FYROM hopes to get an invitation for membership in Nato.

Athens threatened to veto FYROM's bid if the two countries failed to reach an agreement on the name.

Lets be realistic. The inscription Macedonia,Dardanelles, etc, on the Wellington Monument in London is historicalevidence of a Macedonia which existed even before this modern world was created. From the book "Macedoniaits races and their future"by H.N. Brailsford in 1906, Brainsford said that the Christian religion in Macedonia is more deeply rooted than all these political confusions. The Chistian religion in Macedonia is older, more elementary and more permanent than the Byzantine Rite.Over more 1000 years ago the two brothers Sv. Cyril and Sv. Methodi, set off from Solun on a series of missions all over Europe to spread the doctrine of Christianity,Geece did not exist than, and now they are trying to steal our identity our history. The old macedonin language spoken in the Unzi province of Pakistan has many words we today speak these people are from the Alexanders era of 2300 years ago .This language does not containe any greek words, but it does macedonian. The same goes with the Kalash people of Pakistan. The greeks have missused the history, they exist since 1832 not 2300 years, get it? Greece came to Macedonia in !913 for first time when the big Powers split Macedonia and never before. Republic of Macedonia has the right to call its self MACEDONIA.Not Greece.

As a matter of fact when Kiril and Methodi set off on missions not only a state of Greece did not exist, but also a state called Macedonia did not exist. If Kalash people have words similar to those in "Macedonian language" they should be also similar to words in the Bulgarian language
