Lord of the Dance will be coming to Bulgaria – this its second time in the country – to give two shows on June 3 at NDK in Sofia.
The performance is happening as part of the group’s European tour, during which they will visit cities including Ljubljana, Bratislava, Zagreb, Belgrade, Bucharest, The Hague and Berlin. The last time that they were in Bulgaria was in 2002; then, as now, it was on invitation of the production company Art BG.
This time, the original troupe will perform one of the most recent shows of creator Michael Flatley.
Something of an Irish equivalent of Bulgarian chalga (pop-folk music), Lord of the Dance is known for its flamboyant dancing to semi-popped-out versions of traditional Irish tunes; the troupe was popular in the late 1990s.
Tickets for the shows, at 5.30pm and at 9pm on June 3 2008, are for sale at the NDK box office and online via eventim.bg, at prices from 30 to 100 leva.
