Spanish government decided to prolong restrictions on Bulgarian and Romanian workers for the Spanish labour market with one more year, Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia said.
When Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU on January 1 2007, Spain imposed a two-year labour market restriction on Bulgarian and Romanian workers.
The restrictions were to be re-considered in the beginning of 2008 if no real threat for the Spanish labour market was shown, investor.bg said.
With the restrictions still in force, Bulgarians and Romanians, who want to work in Spain, should first get a work-permit.
Meanwhile, minimal salary in Spain has been raised five per cent to 600 euro and pensions by 4.1 to 6.5 per cent.
