Foreign Minister Ivailo Kalfin will sign an agreement with Japanese ambassador to Bulgaria Koichiro Fukui on a grant from the Japanese government of close to two million euro.
The funds will be used to set up a museum of Thracian art found in the eastern Rhodope Mountains.
The joint project by the Culture Ministry, Haskovo municipality and Japan envisions the construction of a modern museum near the Thracian tomb in the village of Alexandrovo, the Foreign Ministry said, as quoted by Focus news agency.
The grant has been provided through a Japanese government programme to support cultural development.
It has already provided financial aid to Bulgaria’s National Theatre, the National Library, Boyana Church and the National Palace of Culture.
