Japanese band of drummers Yamato will present their unique new show Shin-on (Heartbeat) in Sofia.

The show will be held on June 23 2007 in Sofia’s National Palace of Culture.

Yamato’s performance is part of the Jazz + festival. Ticket prices vary from 25 to 59 leva.

The band was founded in 1993 and travels around the world showing the sound of Japan’s traditional drums, called Wadaiko. For the members of the band “the drumbeat, like the heartbeat, is the very pulse of life.”

The show includes several dozens of large and small drums. One of the drums, odaiko is made of a huge tree aged more than 400.

Yamato had staged more than 1500 performances before nearly a million people so far.
