Investigators from Bulgaria and France busted together an organised criminal group dealing with the trafficking of women.
Two men were detained in Bulgaria’s Pazardzhik. The third participant in the scheme was detained in France.
Once taken abroad, the women were forced into prostitution, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.
Police said that the activities of the group were monitored nearly one year. Nearly 10 women were under the supervision of the three detained men. Money from the criminal activity was sent through bank transfers.
During a house search police officers found weapons, computer files and documents.
Interior Ministry said that previously, police detained seven people who forced 105 women into prostitution abroad from 2002 to 2005. The illegal activity produced more than 10 million euro.
