Applications for twice the amount of money available under the operative programme Human Resources had been received by the Labour Ministry, Dnevnik daily quoted the ministry as saying.

Companies had most interest for training of employees. In two months some 650 applications, for the training of 75 000 employees, with a total value of 66.7 million leva were received by the Ministry. The budget for this part of the program was 35.2 million leva, with which 38 000 employees would have to be trained.
Large businesses applied for the training of some 33 000 employees, small business for 23 000 and medium for 19 000 employees to be trained.

For training 925 leva per employee could be awarded, while the company would have to co-finance up to 30 per cent of the value of the project, depending on the size of the company. The minimum number of participants per course was 30.

Some 700 projects were competing for 9.8 million leva to make schools more attractive to young people.

It is expected that two out of three projects will not be funded.
