The state agency for financial inspection will investigate the deals and civil contracts of cigarette producer Bulgartabac Holding, agency head Ginka Draganinska said.
The inspection was requested by Economy and Energy Minister Roumen Ovcharov two months ago and the results are expected to be ready by the end of June, Novinar daily reported.
The agency is currently following up 20 allegations of violations of the Sapard programme, committed by meat processing companies.
Agency inspections have found that the number of breaches of Bulgaria’s public procurement law is steadily increasing.
The main problem exists within tenders and the announcement of criteria, manipulated to give particular candidates an undue advantage.
