The water supply net and the infrastructure as a whole in the winter resort of Bansko are in a bad condition according to the municipality's mayor Alexander Kravarov.

Kravarov was quoted by Focus news agency as saying that the municipality had been putting a lot of effort in maintaining the infrastructure but it had not been enough.

The nearly five million leva the municipality invested in infrastructure improvements in 2007 had been insufficient.

Disaster Management Ministry should provide more funds for training rescue teams, Kravarov added. Otherwise the municipality would risk to expose its tourists and citizens to danger in case of a flood on earthquake.
