The latest corruption controversy that hit Bulgaria involving Economy and Energy Minister Roumen Ovcharov and head of the National Investigative Service (NSI) Angel Alexandrov has not seen any actual evidence, Prosecutor-General Boris Velchev said.
It was very risky for Prosecution to rely only on the statements of those involved in the controversy, without solid evidence, Velchev told mediapool.bg.
When the controversy erupted at the beginning of May 2007, Velchev said that the Prosecution would need 10 days to investigate.
After the end of the deadline, Velchev said that some more time will be needed, indirectly admitting that the Prosecution lacked solid evidence.
According to Velchev, two more trials on state reserve drainage will be launched by the end of June 2007, but no current ministers will be involved.
