By the end of the year 30 per cent of the Bulgarians aged above 15 will have access to internet.
The State Agency for Information Technology and Communications (SAITC) released a report on the development of Bulgaria’s information society in 2005 and 2006.
According to the report the number of people using computers in Bulgaria has increased. Most people use a computer at home and at their work place.
The number of computer owners has increased nearly three times. A big number of families pointed out they bought the computer because of their children. In the coming year 11 per cent of the families having children plan to buy a computer.
Bulgaria was meeting international levels of internet access, the report said. The usage in the country approximated European, as well as international averages.
