A check by the Bulgarian Drug Agency at more than 20 pharmacies at the Black Sea coast revealed that there were illegal drug stores and and drug stores selling medicines with expired periods of use, the Health Ministry said.
The agency inspectors uncovered three pharmacies, in the village of Lozenets and the town of Nessebar, operating without the needed licence. In other pharmacies, medicines sensitive to temperatures were not stored under the proper conditions, investor.bg said.
Among the violations found were that pharmacists were selling medicines not included in the National Health Insurance Fund list or that they were selling prescription medicines without prescriptions from the patient's doctor.
