Huge icicles were hanging from a number of buildings in the centre of Sofia and there were hardly any signs to keep pedestrians from walking underneath the icicles.

The traffic in the Sofia centre was intensive and the road surfaces are wet, Focus news agency said.

There were huge puddles and deep slush in the smaller streets throughout the centre.

The snow in front of most shops and coffee houses was already cleaned. However, at places there were deep snow-drifts formed by the snow piled up on sidewalks.

The stairs of most subways in the city centre were clean, but still wet and slippery.
