World ice dance champions Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski, who took bronze medals in the most recent European championship in Poland are to hold an ice skating show in Sofia. The event is on Sunday February 4 at the Winter Palace in Sofia. Tickets are10 leva and 20 leva and may be bought at the Winter Palace (Zimen dvorets) and the National Palace of Culture (NDK).
Famous ice skating couples are to take part. These include Russians Maria Petrova and Alexey Tihonov and Italians Ana Kapelini and Luka Lanotte. Many Bulgarian skaters and former world ice stars will participate.
“We are planning to make even bigger show in Sofia right after the World Championship in Tokyo. I do not know what went wrong during the European championship in Poland but we are confident and we are looking forward to the next important tournament in Japan. People like our ice dance programmes and I believe that this will be evident again in Asia,” Denkova said.
Said Staviski: “We also want to congratulate Isabelle and Olivier from France who won the gold medals in Poland. We are not going to give up dancing and we will continue fighting to the end. Never mind the score, never mind the referee.”
