Street stalls in the Black Sea coastal resort of Golden Sands should be fully removed according to hotel managers and owners in the resort.
Such street sales should be moved to a separate trade centre, hospitality unions said in a letter sent to the resort's municipality as quoted by Dnevnik daily.
According to unions, the street stalls fail to meet sanitary requirements and are located on green areas and alleys in the resort. Their owners never pay refuse tax and pollute the region.
Union representatives said that street stall owners have to locate the stalls at least 15 to 20m away from the hotels. They also said that the construction of trade sites had to stop immediately.
Measures for removing street stalls will be applied in the coming summer season. According to hotel representatives the number of street stalls should not exceed 500 for this summer and 300 for the next season.
Hotel representatives also demand an update in the transport network in the resort and free tourist access to 25 per cent of the beaches.
