Former world champion in boxing Evander Holyfield said that he would come as special guest of the Bulgarian Strandjata boxing tournament, but only if he receives a $300 000 (204 460 euro) payment, Bulgarian boxing federation president Marin Dimitrov said.
The federation was already looking for serious investors to provide the money, Dimitrov said as quoted by Focus news agency.
It would soon become clear whether Holyfield would attend Strandjata, Dimitrov said.
Strandjata is the oldest boxing tournament in Europe. This years’ tournament however would not be a qualification for the Olympic Games in Beijing as rumours recently said, according to Dimitrov.
