The civil group Citizens for Rila and the coalition of 30 environmental organisations To Sustain the Nature in Bulgaria organised a “silent vigil for Rila” on April 11 at Patriarh Evtimii Square in central Sofia. On this way the environmentalists and citizens insisted the construction of the not permitted ski resort Panichishte-Ezerata-Kaboul in Rila to be cancelled, Rila Buffer zone to be included in European environmental network Natura 2000 and the state to start an active policy for alternative tourism development.
