Heating prices would be changed by 0.35 per cent, head of the State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (SEWRC) Konstantin Shoushoulov said.
SEWRC already examined the demands of heating companies, unions and independent experts concerning a higher price increase.
Representatives of Sofia’s central heating provider Toplofikatsia said that the proposed change was unrealistic since it did not take into account network maintenance costs.
In case renovation works are not carried out, the system might fail during the winter, Toplofikatsia representatives said.
Shoushoulov said that according to calculations Toplofikatsia could allocate 29 million leva to renovation works. The company’s main problem was its inability to make clients pay bills, from which it lost funds.
