More than half the universities in Bulgaria had decided to accept school-leaving exam results of applicant students, Education Minister Daniel Vulchev said on January 25.
Vulchev was on a visit to a meeting of the council of directors in higher education.
He went to the meeting to persuade the management of the other universities to do the same, Dnevnik daily said. According to Vulchev, the results of school-leaving exams would show the real knowledge level of students in various schools. Students and teacher had realised that school-leaving exams would be a good development for Bulgarian education, Vulchev said.
Candidate students at universities would be given a choice. Those who scored badly in school-leaving exams, could opt for entrance exams.
