Investments by Greek companies in Bulgaria decreased by 51 per cent in the first three months of 2007, as compared to the figures for 2006.
Greek companies invested 54.2 million euro in the country from January to March 2007. A year earlier the amount was 110.3 million euro, Greek newspaper Imerisia said.
The Greek embassy in Bulgaria said that Greek companies were following the trend of other major investors in Bulgaria.
Still, Greece is among the three major investors in the country for the period 1996 – 2007, registering a total of 1.571 billion euro of investments.
Imerisia said that Greek exports to Bulgaria were worth 255 million euro over the same period. Exports rose 12.7 per cent.
