The signing of the agreement forf the Bourgas-Alexandroupolis project was postponed but will be held in March 2007.
The deal finalisation was scheduled for March 6 2007 in Athens, but was postponed in the last moment, Associated Press (AP) said.
Greek development ministry denied any delay in the project execution. Bulgaria, Greece and Russia continued seeking a suitable date for the signing ceremony, the ministry said.
AP quoted sources from the Greek development ministry as saying that the deal “will be signed sometime in March.”
Bourgas-Alexandroupolis pipeline will transfer Russian oil to the Greek port of Alexandroupolis through the Bulgarian port of Bourgas, bypassing the busy Bosporus Strait in Turkey.
The pipeline will carry 700 000 barrels of oil per day. The amount of barrels could reach one million per day.
The completion of the project was “tentatively scheduled” for 2010, AP said.
