Bulgarian Roumyana Neikova won gold in skiff in the European Rowing Championships held in Poznan, Poland.
It took Neikova only 7:36 minutes to row the distance of 2000m, leaving Czech Mirka Knapkova more than three seconds behind, Focus news agency reported. Swedish Frida Svensson finished third.
Neikova took the lead right from the start. After 500 meter her lead was nearly two seconds. Neikova was ahead of the rest of the rowers with five seconds at 1500 meter and rowed the remaining 500m seemingly without much effort.
Bulgarian youth world champion academic rowing Alexander Alexandrov won a bronze medal. Alexandrov, 17, finished third with 7:10 minutes, leaving Polish Arnold Sobczak in fourth position with more than six seconds difference.
Austrian Ralph Kreibich won the title, Focus said.
