One of the largest Bulgarian construction companies, Glavbolgarstroy (GBS) plans to invest nearly 30 million euro in the coming three years in the construction of vacation villages and tourism centres in the country, GBS head Kalin Peshov said.
The two major projects of the company include Super Borovets and a development in the town of Berkovitsa, Dnevnik daily reported.
The construction of the ski lifts in both of the complexes will begin in the summer, Peshov said.
Ski lifts in Borovets will start from 1100m altitude reaching the Markoudzhik ski tracks. Its length will reach nine km.
The project in Berkovitsa envisions the construction of a 900m ski facility, which is expected to be completed by the beginning of the winter season.
GBS plans to finalise construction of the village within five years.
Certain territories under the project in Berkovitsa were previously included in the European environmental network Natura 2000. The exclusion of these territories from the network provoked eco-organisation protests. According to ecologists, the village will have a negative nfluence on nature in the region.
Another project of GBS envisions the construction of vacation complex St Toma near the coastal resort of Sozopol. The project is worth 10 million euro and will include a hotel and second home buildings which will be afterwards sold.
