Bulgaria's main export partners in the past years were Germany, Italy, Turkey and Greece, National Statistical Institute (NSI) data showed.
The four countries are accountable for 44 per cent of the total value of exported goods, Focus news agency reported.
Belgium, France, Romania, Spain, the US and Serbia also feature among significant export partners.
The country exported more than 68 per cent of all Bulgarian goods to those 10 countries since the beginning of the year.
Germany, Russia and Italy are Bulgaria’s main import partners. The value of goods imported from those countries totals 34 per cent of the total imports volume.
Import from Russia in the first quarter of 2007 decreased by 17 per cent compared ton figures for the first quarter of 2006.
Import from Turkey, Greece, Ukraine, Austria, Romania, France, the Netherlands and China also increased.
Bulgaria’s main trade partners are European Union countries. Nearly 65 per cent of the country’s goods exchange involves EU countries. Export to EU increased by 12.2 per cent in 2007 and import increased by 36 per cent.
