A German delegation would visit Bulgaria in the beginning of October before the country started discussing the ratification of Bulgaria's EU accession treaty, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Dimitar Tsanchev said.
The accession treaty would be discussed in the Bundestag on October 20, Focus news agency reported. Acceptance of the treaty on second reading was expected by the end of October in the lower chamber of the Bundestag.
Procedures in the upper chamber would be launched in mid-November, Focus reported.
The ratification procedure in France ended on October 3, making Germany and Denmark the only two union members that have not ratified the treaty yet.
Earlier this year German officials said they would wait for the final European Commission report on Bulgaria's readiness to join the EU before launching the ratification procedure.
