Media from various countries continue analysing the European trip of US president George W. Bush.
Serbian Danas daily reported that Serbia disagreed with Bush’s position on Kosovo’s status. Serbia was not going to accept NATO and EU membership opportunity as a compensation, the report said.
Bush said that the US supported Kosovo's independence.
Serbian president Boris Tadic rejected the possibility for any kind of compensation in exchange of territory loss, the report said.
Serbian prime minister Vojislav Kostunica said that the key to resolution of the problem was taking into consideration UN charters and international legislation.
Serbian Politika website referred to Kostunica’s statement that the country had the right to protect its territory in a peaceful way. The report said that one-sided independence proclamation will fail solving the problem.
