Police in Bulgaria detained yet another member of a human trafficking group that operated in Bulgaria and Belgium.
The man is from Sliven and was arrested on May 17 at Kalotina border checkpoint, Interior Ministry said.
On May 17, police arrested the leader of the group, specialised in trafficking in women.
Bulgarian police received information on the activities of the group from their Belgian counterparts. The organisers forced women from the Sliven region into prostitution abroad.
Police said that members of the group threatened and forced nearly 15 women.
Investigation lasted nearly one year, during which officials collected evidence.
Officers already questioned four of the victims. Work on the case is ongoing.
