A week of French culture will be held in Varna on March 14 to 19, Roumyana Shtarkova, head of the French Institute – Varna’s Alliance Française, told private Darik Radio on March 7.
An online writing marathon will kick off the week on March 14, followed by a French techno music party will be held at Kristal restaurant at the Festival and Congress Centre (FCC), located at the entrance to the Morska Gradina, the city's sea garden, the following day.
During the week, the city's French-language school Frédéric Joliot-Curie will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Guest of honour will be French ambassador Etienne de Poncins.
March 28 will be the start of a contemporary French short film festival that will be hosted by the FCC in Evropa Hall. Entrance will be free-of-charge and subtitles will be in both Bulgarian and English. The festival ends on April 4.
