French parliament to vote on report about Libya case
14:53 Tue 22 Jan 2008 - Spasena Baramova

The French parliamentary committee that investigated the circumstances surrounding the release of the Bulgarian medics from Libya and the role France played in the process, is to present and vote on its final report, AFP said.

However, expectations were that the report would not disclose the role of Cecilia Sarkozy in the release of the medics, Dnevnik daily said on January 22.

A representative of the French parliamentary committee said on January 21 that the report would show that France had nothing to hide regarding its role in the release of the medics.

The committee did not uncover what role Qatar played, Focus news agency said.

French members of parliament of the Socialist party, on whose initiative the committee had been created, were expected to abstain from voting on January 22 as a sign of protest against the fact that Cecilia Sarkozy had not been heard as part of the investigation.
