After a meeting of rightist parties today, four formations said they would support the nomination of Nedelcho Beronov as the common rightist presidential candidate.
Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) suggested Beronov as the single nominee to unite the fragmented rightist electorate. Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) withdrew the nomination of its leader Petar Stoyanov and decided to support Beronov.
Three more parties were expected to announce soon if they were going to support Beronov, Focus news agency reported.
DSB member Vesselin Metodiev said that campaign organisation and expenditure would be
discussed in the coming days. Beronov is also expected to say soon if he accepted the nomination.
The decision for vice-president selection would be taken by the presidential nominee, Metodiev said.
If Beronov accepts he would also have to look for support from other formations, apart from the eight parliamentary represented rightist parties, Metodiev said.
