Teodosii Spasov, Wikeda, Kozza Mostra, Popara and Balkansky are only a few of the famous Bulgarian music artists who will perform, together with DJs of Hard Music Sound Unit (HMSU) and Artmospheric, at the Beglika free festival near Beglika dam in the Rhodope mountains from August 7 to 10. During the festival, various sports and art events and competitions will take place on the lake’s shores or in the nearby mountains. The festival is organised under the motto of nature preservation and the Wood Grouse in particular, whose population is threatened by excessive hunting.
The location of the Beglika festival is near the town of Batak, 110 km south-east of Sofia near Pazardjik. Access to the festival is free of charge, but participants are encouraged to support the festival through the sale of t-shirts with the festival's logo for 12 leva or a t-shirt with an environmental certificate of 25 leva.
The proceeds will be used towards the preservation of the Wood Grouse population.
Beglika festival promotes a healthy mind and body attitude and includes arts and sports activities.
The festival is organised by eight non-governmental organisations, including the Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation, Bikearea association, Green School Village association and others.
