Sofia City Court acquitted Sofia's former mayor Stefan Sofianski in the case of the Millennium Centre on September 24 2007.
Public Prosecutor announced to journalists the prosecution would appeal the ruling of the court, Focus new agency said.
The prosecutor said the second forensic-administrative expertise, which the court today accepted, “did not reflect the damages the municipality incurred in the transaction”.
According to the expertise, the price difference between market price and the price of the transaction was 9.48 leva, and according to the prosecutor the damage for the municipality was close to 66 000 leva.
Sofianski said the difference of 9.48 leva was “simply an accounting mistake.”
The prosecution had demanded 4.5 years in jail and five years deprivation of the right to hold a public office for former Sofianski.
