Customs officers at Kalotina border checkpoint seized 9000 forged euro and 18 air rifles on the morning of January 22 2007.
A 27-year-old Bulgarian tried to take the forged money out of the country, Focus news agency reported.
The man was traveling using a regular bus line from Bulgaria to Spain. The officers found 45 banknotes of 200 euro.
Kalotina customs authorities also seized 18 air rifles during another customs check-up.
The weapons were found in a lamp on the ceiling of an international train at Dragoman station, Focus said.
