Bulgarian President Georgi Purvanov returned for parliamentary discussion amendments to the Foreigner’s Act.
The changes aim to introduce an European directive, obliging air carriers to provide information on their passengers.
Flight safety is to be guaranteed through the amendments, which will also counter illegal immigration and terrorism.
Further discussion is needed, since the text refer to passengers rather than to foreigners, a term which is ambiguous, according to Purvanov.
Foreigner, a rather specific term, will limit the number of people on which data is to be provided.
Bulgarian Foreigner’s Act was drafted to arrange the way in which foreigners can enter, stay and leave the country.
