FIRE BRIGADES KEEP ON FIGHTING FIRES IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF BULGARIA

Fires in various parts of Bulgaria are still active and fire brigades keep on extinguishing them.

Fire brigades have been working in the regions of Yambol and Haskovo, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

Another fire started in the villages Melnitsa and Granitovo in Elhovo municipality and in the village of Srem, Topolovgrad municipality. The fire spread over an area of 20 000 decares.

According to preliminary data, nearly 6000 decares of forest have been destroyed by fires this season.

Fire extinguishing is currently occurring in two locations, between the villages of Melnitsa and Lessovo, and near the village of Srem.

Fire fighters have been trying to bring fires under control between the villages of Ovcharovo, Shishmanovo and Svirkovo in Harmanli municipality. The total affected area is 25 000 decares.
