A Bulgarian football film won top honours at the International One-Minute Film Festival Filminute.

The film, Game, by director Kristina Grozeva won the jury-awarded Best Filminute prize and also ranked first for the festival audience award.

The film tells the story of a boy, who finds his place in a neighborhood football game, despite all the challenges he meets.

Filminute Executive Director and Head of Jury John Ketchum said that “the fact that Game was chosen for Best Filminute and also ranked as the top-rated film by audiences worldwide underscores the film’s appeal, quality, and emotional impact.”

Indian Director Siddartha Jatla’s Missing won the other top award of the festival. The film Missing focuses on the ongoing illegal practice of child marriage in India.

The winning films were selected from a shortlist of 25 entries drawn from a pool of over 800 films from 45 countries

People from more than 90 countries viewed, rated and voted the films at the Filminute website.
