Bulgarian ice dancers and world champions Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski moved to the second spot in the world rank list of the International Skating Union (ISU).
The Bulgarians have 4070 points, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
Olympic champions Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov are in the lead, though they quit competing. The two have 4080 points.
Ranking is based on the participation of couples in all ISU championships over the past three years, the national radio reported.
On December 16 Denkova and Staviski won gold in the Grand Prix final in Russia's St Petersburg. This is a first-time achievment for a Bulgarian skating pair.
Canadian pair Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon rank third with a score of 4050 points, the report said.
