FEWER BULGARIANS INTERESTED IN WORKING IN EU MEMBER COUNTRIES
09:48 Tue 12 Sep 2006

The number of Bulgarians who wanted to work in EU countries decreased two times since 2001, a Gallup International survey showed.

The Labour and Social Policy Ministry ordered the poll, Darik Radio reported.

Most EU countries would probably apply restrictions for the entry of Bulgarian and Romanian workers after the two countries’ EU entry. That meant Bulgarians would have to apply for job abroad following current procedures, Darik said.

Countries that would open their labour markets were still to decide whether to introduce a registration system for Bulgarian workers, Darik said.

Bulgaria would be enlisted in the EU net of employment offices after its accession to the EU, Darik said.

All jobs available in the EU would be presented in an internet portal. It would probably include more than a million work positions, Darik said.

Bulgarians would apply for work through job bureaus in Bulgaria, Darik said.
