One of the most wanted ATM robbers in Bulgaria, Roumen Sadovski, was arrested on November 12, Interior Minister Roumen Petkov said.
Sadovski was detained while trying to rob an ATM machine in Sofia’s Krasna Polyana district, Novinar newspaper reported. Policemen found 35 000 leva that the man had just stolen.
Apart from the money Sadovski carried the instruments he used to steal money, Novinar reported. He also had six fake credit cards, the Interior Ministry said.
Sadovski has a criminal record. He was previously involved in car theft and carried out his activities in Bulgaria, Italy and Spain.
Interior Minister Petlov said that crime in Sofia was going down. One of the reasons for this decrease was the setting up of video surveillance equipment. Crime has been taken down to zero in areas under surveillance, said Petkov.
