Authorities in the town of Kostenets seized a printing house for fake diplomas and documents.

Police officers arrested two men at the scene, an Interior Ministry press release said. The two were trying to sell fake documents.

Policemen searched the houses and the vehicles of the two and seized numerous forms, document issuing instruments, as well as seals and patterns of seals of various institutions, and already issued diplomas.

In January 2006, the crime-fighting unit of the police department received information concerning a man who was taking orders for the issuing of education diplomas, driving licenses, and legalisation of documents, among others.

After a year of investigation, in January 2007, the police arrested the forger I.A.S. while selling an education diploma at Sofia’s Poduyane bus station.

Police continued the investigation and tracked down the accomplice of the detained, who issued the documents.

On the night of August 31 2007, police arrested again I.A.S. and his accomplice.
