The days of Bulgarian started in the European Parliament yesterday.
Vice-chair of the European People’s Party (EPP) Lorenzo Cesa and EP rapporteur on Bulgaria Geoffrey van Orden launched the initiative based on a request of the Bulgarian observers in the EP, Focus news agency reported.
This is the first such event taking place in the EP. Before the European Commission issues its final report on Bulgaria’s readiness to join the EU, the participants in the project will show Bulgaria’s history and traditions.
As a part of the initiatives the works of famous Bulgarian painters and sculptors will be exhibited in the EP building in Strasbourg. On March 14 a cocktail with traditional Bulgarian dishes and a selection of Bulgarian wines will take place.
All members of the EP, observers, administrators and assistants received invitations for the event.
