European commissioners will arrive in Bulgaria on July 12 to examine developments in the health care system, social policies and agriculture, Health Minister Radoslav Gaidarski said.
The results of the inspection would be presented in the final European Commission report on Bulgaria's readiness to join the EU on January 1 2007, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.
Since the beginning of its term in office, the Cabinet has been trying to implement all needed reforms in the six areas listed as critical in the previous EC report, Gaidarski said.
In its previous report, the EC criticised Bulgaria mainly for the lack of decisive measures against corruption and organised crime.
The most important issue for Bulgaria was to be ready for membership, rather than to receive international approval, Gaidarski said. For the aim, the country needed developments in its economic and social policies, said he.
