Bulgaria is one of the six EU member states that received final European Commission warning because of failures to deal with climate changes, as listed in the Kyoto Protocol.
Brussels said as quoted by Reuters news agency that Bulgaria failed presenting information on the manner in which it deals with climate changes.
The country has two months to respond to the warning. In case Bulgaria fails to present its position, the EC will send a second warning, after which the issue will be taken to court.
EC presented its report on March 22. This is the first official procedure against Bulgaria that the EC launches.
Other countries that failed meeting EC requirements include Estonia, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg and Malta.
