Fisheries and Maritime Affairs Commissioner Joe Borg has signed a European Commission (EC) decision to approve Bulgaria's Fishery and Aquacultures Operational Programme 2007-2013.
Focus news agency reported the EC announcement on December 13, saying that formal notification would be sent by the EC Secretariat-General to Bulgaria in coming days.
The Fishery and Aquacultures Operational Programme is worth 106 679 611 euro. Of this, 80 009 708 comes from the European Fisheries Fund and national co-financing added up to 26 669 903 euro, Focus said.
The EC will make an advance payment at the end of 2007. In January 2008 the first monitoring committee will decide on how the implementation of the programme will be organised, Focus said.
