Bulgaria will receive more than 12 million euro from the EU for work on infrastructure projects.

European Commission will provide the funds from the ISPA programme, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

Deputy Finance Minister Liubomir Datsov will sign the documents, since he is Bulgaria's national ISPA co-ordinator.

Projects to receive European funding are worth 14.29 mullion euro. National budget will also provide part of the sum, the national radio reported. The sum Bulgaria will be responsible for reaches 2.07 million euro.

Funds are to be used for the preparation of technological, economic and ecological analysis, work on tender documentation and the preparation of renovation and modernisation projects.

Infrastructure that will undergo renovation includes roads, railroads and other transport facilities.

Work on such projects was needed as infrastructure aided general economic growth and was also to become part of the trans-European transport network, the national radio reported.
