The funds Bulgaria would receive from the EU once it became union member would be limited, Bulgarian European Parliament observer Martin Dimitrov said as quoted by Novinar newspaper.
European Commission president Jose Manuel Barosso said that Bulgaria and Romania put lots of effort in reforms but safeguard clauses could be introduced for some of the critical areas presented in the previous EC report.
Parts of the latest EC monitoring report to be presented on September 26 were already complete, Novinar reported. Some of the report conclusions were going to be presented on September 25, European Integration Minister Meglena Kouneva said.
Novinar also reported on the manner Bulgarian diplomats to European countries were trying to improve the image of the country shortly before the issuing of the report.
Bulgarian ambassador to the UK Luchezar Matev presented a list with the names of famous Bulgarians and their contributions to various social spheres.
Matev said that the crime level in the UK was much higher than the one in Bulgaria. Bulgarian workers were not going to migrate to the country because of the high living expenses and lack of proper social services, said he as quoted by Novinar.
