European Union (EU) enlargement should stop after Bulgaria and Romania’s entry, according to European Commission’s (EC) president Jose Manuel Barroso and French prime minister Dominique de Villepin.

EU should first reform its institutions, they said.

Common European institutions were shaken by France’s and the Netherlands’s turning down of the European constitution during national referenda, Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) said.

Barroso said that he would be happy if Croatia entered the EU. Croatia hoped to access the union before 2009, BNR said.

Bulgaria and Romania’s EU accession marked a certain stage in the EU development, de Villepin said. EU had to improve its internal rules before moving to another stage, he said.

On September 26 EC is expected to recommend that Bulgaria and Romania enter the EU on January 1 2007.

Facism was supposed to have been abolished by the formation of the EU. Obviously this is not the case. So much for equal opportunities and anti-discrimination. But favouritism to Croatia, of course. The EU has supposedly been reforming its institutions for the last 9 years in any case - what has been achieved? While setting specific dates for the accession of other countries may be premature, suggesting a halting the prospective future European integration process is not the answer. For the security and peace we all desire, the other countries of the Balkans some other European looking former Soviet republics should not be excluded from the wider European family.

The European Civisation was formed by the Christian Catholic Church,Both Roman and Greek ,Latin and Byzantine. Therefore all members of the European Union must re cognise and have official Religion the Catholic Church both Latin and Greek Rites. And the Pope should be the spiritual Head of the European Union and should be listen to and obeyed.Countries which are not officially Christian should not be members.Unofficially people must be left alone to live their own lives with Religio or no Religion

...more over Russia must be recognised as Ally of Europe and European also and later cofounder of European Civilisation. The Patriarch of Moscow must be recognised as spiritual co-Head of The Catholic Church together with the Pope and be part of the Official Catholic Church Christian Church. And Europe must restore its Christian Monarchies in the Eastern Europe and Western Europe with Otto von Hansburg as Head of the Christian Empire ruling from Vienna Austria and and the Emperor or Empress of Russia Grand Duchess Vladimirovna of Russia as Co-Haed of the Christian Empire. The double-headed Eagle of Austria and Russia must be united as One.

...in the meantime,at present I agree with the the 1st writer that no Country should be excluded from membership in the EU. Serbia and Albania should be able to be part.Serbia defended European Civilisation and fought the Turks with the help of Austria by supplying it with arms at Krayina.Albania also defended Europe by fighting the Ottoman Empire with its hero George Kastrioti Skandenberg.
