EU CITIZENS HAVING PERMANENT STAY RIGHT IN BULGARIA TO SELECT GP IN THE COUNTRY

EU residents having permanent stay right and health insurance will have the same access to healthcare services as Bulgarians.

Parliament approved the regulations on June 28.

Changes were introduced to meet European regulations for equal level of social services within the union.

Each EU resident staying in Bulgaria will be able to register with the National Health Fund (NHF) and afterwards to select a GP.

EU residents staying temporarily in Bulgaria are entitled to any medical aid that is needed instantly.

Hotels will be obliged to provide their foreign guests with information concerning the closest hospitals and clinics and emergency aid availability.
